Roundup Day
Sápmi, 2017
Fall in northern Finland. Just before the long and dark winter starts, the Sámi gather their impressive reindeerherds on the tundra. Twice a year the herds a brought in for inspection, marking and selection. In those weeks the Sámi live with their families in temporarily village -the remains of a former nomadic way of life- next to the roundup. A ingenious system of fences to split the herd in workable numbers.
