2048 virtual domination | 2018

BredaPhoto festival is a biannual international photofestival in Breda, in the Netherlands. The festival shows the state of the art of contemporary photography based on an internationally relevant social theme. Under the title  -TO INFINITY AND BEYOND- the 8th edition of BredaPhoto Festival in 2018 explores the impact of the continuing science. Will it bring nothing but progress? Or are we at risk of opening a Pandora’s box full of unwelcome surprises?

 

Prior to the festival the organization sets up a Masterclass for advanced amateur photographers. After a wide selection I participated with 29 photographers in a masterclass over a half year to present our work to curators of the festival. Only 10 of them could expose their work at the festival. Unfortunately I wasn't one of them, but with pride I present my work.

 

My subject of inquiry: what would the world look like in 30 years, if we mainly live in a virtual world? Note, this predicted situation was 2 years later temporarily present due to quarantine for the global Corona-pandemic.
